Ialyrn Aeloria - reference sheet

Finally have the reference sheet for my OC finished. Shouldn't have really taken this long, but I got sidetracked with the pencil sketches.

Name: Ialyrn Aeloria (Formally 'Starshine Dust')
Species: Unknown Entity (born as an earth pony).
Gender: Mare
Age: Unknown?
Main Residence: Ponyville (outskirts, near the Everfree)
Physical ability's: oddly strong, pretty agile, fast on her hooves.
Special talent: Spectral artwork while listening to/playing music or singing.
Unicorn magic: Telekinesis, short area teleportation (doesn't always get this one right, still learning, can improve over time), other unicorn spells.
Unique ability's and powers: Travel between and creation of pocket dimensions, good for a safe place to stay, for storage of items, traversing long distances. Omniverse travel, causes tiredness. Can change between all pony races; as well as wolf, gryphon, human, and elven. Able to create energy blasts and shields from hoofs.
Rage and/or emotional distress state: Uncontrollable energy discharge, sort lived, drains energy quickly, reduction of rational thought, exceptionally difficult to control magic and energy based abilities; results in area damage and can cause unconsciousness.

Born as an earth pony called Starshine Dust. pale violet body colour, strawberry coloured mane and tail. Chef, highly introverted, no confidence, difficulty in making friends, poor attitude, quick to lose temper, intelligent, no cutie mark, creative, likes music. Does not like infringement into personal space, can become highly agitated over hugs, does not like crowds, avoids confrontation where possible.

Mother: Arabella Star. Earth Pony, Chef, light blue body colour, ash blonde hair. (need to flesh out more)
Father: Orrin Dust, Pegasus, Construction worker, yellow body, auburn hair. (need to flesh out more)
Close childhood friend: Prisma Ardent. White body, pink hair, polar opposite to Starshine.

Bio: Starshine Dust Was born and raised in Trottingham. She did fairly well in school, but enjoyed been at home more due to her not liking groups of ponies. She always struggled to make friends and was not very confident at all, though she did have one close friend in Prisma Ardent; the pair where inseparable. She was very scared of putting herself forward, and spent most of her time on her own either reading, drawing, or cooking with her mother.

Starshine is very uncomfortable over physical contact, especially hugs. It freaks her out to the point she can become unusually aggressive and run away in full flight mode. She was bullied for a while from the ages of 11 till 15 due to her reclusive nature, though things came to abrupt end when one of her bullies pushed her over. Starshine lost her temper and retaliated, and although not an action to condone, it did stop the bullying; and also had to spend a week in detention. Remember, two wrongs do not make a right.

After she graduated from school Starshine began working with her mother in the kitchen of a local restaurant called the 'Dove Inn'. Things where pretty sedate for her, and whenever she was not at work she was in her room yet again either drawing or reading. Ever a creature of habit.

At the age of 25 Prisma talked a reluctant Starshine into traveling around Equestria for a year. In the space of 8 months they had visited places such as Manehattan, Neighagra Falls, Vanhoover, and Los Pegasus, spending a few weeks in the places they visit. Eventually the pair ended up in Ponyville.

While there they met a very hyper Pinkie Pie, who enthusiastically welcomed the pair to Ponyville with hugs and promises of an awesome welcome party. This freaked Starshine out, causing her to bolt from the area. In full 'flight' mode she ended up running deep into the Everfree, where upon she tripped and fell down a chasm. Unfortunately for Starshine there was an interdimensional portal, which, in her free fall, she fell right into; it sealing shut behind her.

Trapped in a pocket dimension:

Starshine was stuck in a pocket dimension between universes, trapped and alone with no way to escape. She was unconscious for the majority of the time she was in there, and the rest of the time she wasn't able to achieve full awoken state of mind. While in her interdimensional prison a strange energy flowed through her, enacting unusual changes to her in the process. When Starshine fell into the portal it had set of a chain of events throughout the Omniverse, ones which had resulted in every version of her from all parallel universe's merging into one being. For a while her body was in a state of complete flux, mostly changing between earth pony, Unicorn and Pegasus forms; but other forms where included, such as human and K9 (mostly wolf). 

Her family and best friend searched high and low without success, and after a year the search had to be called off due to safety concerns.

Exiting the pocket dimension:

unbeknownst to the still unconscious Starshine, between 4 to 5 hundred years had passed inside of the pocket dimension; though only 3 years had passed outside. Events where afoot however, events which would see her released from the interdimensional prison; the defeat of Nightmare Moon by Twilight and the other elements of harmony.

The energy released by the elements had the side effect of ripping a hole into the pocket dimension, and shortly after every pony had gone to celebrate with a party; the still sleeping Starshine slipped out of the portal with a bit of a bang. Energy swelled around the mare for a short time, with sparks of electricity licking around the immediate area; causing the Everfree critters to scatter from the vicinity due to the ferocity of the magic being released from the unconscious mare.

Noticing the disturbances, Princess Celestia left the celebrations in Ponyville with a couple royal guards, traveling back into the Everfree to investigate the unusual explosion and magical energies, to which she found a sleeping wine coloured Unicorn with teal blue mane.

After been found:

The Princess and her guards carried the young mare to the Ponyville hospital where the medical staff found a bed for the unicorn, and the Doctors proceeded to give her an examination. She was found to be in reasonable physical health.

It took about a week before the mare awoke, and after a short panic attack at her change of appearance, the hospital Doctor informed her of how she came to be there.

When asked her name, she hesitated slightly. She knew what it was, and her memories where intact; but it didn't feel right saying it. She did relent and inform the Doctor though.

Starshine could feel that she was different, not just physically, but mentally also. She was more confident, and no way near as shy or introverted as she was before. Though she still isnt exactly happy in large crowds of ponies. She also seemed more creative than before, and did a few drawings while in the hospital. The mare did garner a few strange looks, as everypony expected her to use her magic for drawing with; but she hid the fact that she didn't exactly know how.

She also still has a short temper, but no way near as short as before her unusual experience. Starshine also still shy's away from hugs, but can tolerate them now without totally freaking. Though she does warn ponies she does not know to step off. She also finds it easier to make friends, which came in handy after leaving the hospital.

After the hospital:

Starshine was unable to travel back home right away, as she had no money. She managed to talk her way into a temporary cooking job with board at the local hotel, which also left her some bits spare. Plus she was able to sell some of her artwork.

During one of Pinkie Pies many parties, a more confident Starshine started singing along to a Sapphire Shores song that was playing. The mare really got into it, and closing her eyes she began putting all of herself into the music. This resulted in her newfound magic coming forth in a highly unusual way, as it formed a picture made of pure magical aura which fit in with the song. And although not the greatest vocalist in the world, it did result in Starshine gaining her cutie mark. A golden treble and bass clef shaped in a heart, with the bottom tip of the bass clef shaped like a paintbrush.

Soon after Starshine had earn't enough money (and a bit extra) to travel back home, saying "see you later" to the friends she had made in Ponyville; as she didnt want to say a proper 'goodbye'. Once back in Trottingham it took a bit of convincing for her parents to accept that she was their daughter, after all, she was very different; both physically and mentally. Prisma was far easier to convince, and the pair picked up where they left off as best friends; still as inseparable as ever.

The new found unicorn went back to work with her mother. During the next few months the mare did a fair bit of thinking. Firstly with her name, as she still couldn't shake the feeling that it did not fit her anymore. There where other things running through her head, memories of other places. Some magical, some wonderful, some violent, and some desolate. She felt decidedly unknown, and oddly older; much older. The newfound unicorn would often break out into an unusual language, especially when frustrated at something. She also knew (after a few unusual events), that she was no normal unicorn, nor even a normal pony by this point. What with changing into a pegasus, a wolf, as well as a highly unusual bipedal creature on occasion. She also found, equally by accident, that she could travel the omniverse at will; though it does leave her feeling tired when used in quick succession. It is also quite difficult to control, and once resulted in her being missing from home for 2 days. As well as the ability to return to the pocket dimension, but without the negative effect of falling into unconsciousness anymore.

These unusual things did make her slightly distant at first, as she worried what ponies would think. But eventually she opened up to her parents about the strange abilities she had gained.
After some careful deliberation, Starshine decided she needed a change of pace. First she would start off with her name.....

Leaving home:

Starshine traveled to Canterlot wherein she partitioned a legal request of name change to 'Ialryn Aeloria' from the courts, it was derived from the unusual language she would often speak; which she started calling 'Elven' as she could access more memories. The translation in our language is 'Unknown Entity', which is exactly what she was now, and precisely how she felt. This was fairly straight forward, and within a couple of hours, Starshine was legally called 'Ialyrn Aeloria'.

Next was to deal with the lack of ability with regards to unicorn magic, to which this would be harder to address as an adult pony. Especially with limited funds, and no where to actually stay in Canterlot. This posed a problem, as she needed somewhere safe to sleep. The first night she stopped in a local and very pricey hotel. This left her with only a dozen or so bits remaining, so she knew she would not be able to stay a second night. While thinking it over she decided she could stay in the pocket dimension..... her pocket dimension. It was warm, dry, surprisingly safe; it made perfect sense to make it a temporary home. Plus it was exceptionally free.

It took a couple of days, but Ialyrn was able to find a job in a local restaurant kitchen. She managed to impress the owner with a delectable Celery soup starter, exquisite vegetable stew main course, and a triple chocolate brownie with vanilla sorbet to die for as the desert.

Soon after Ialyrn was able to find a magic tutor, Ms. Windlesham. She was an older mare, had a stern look in her eyes. She would be a tough but fair teacher, which is what Ialyrn needed at this time. It took some convincing however, and the young unicorn had to level with her new teacher about the non unicorn past she had, and everything which had happened since she her initial stay in the pocket dimension.

3 months later:

With a job in hoof, magic lessons going well, and bits in the bank; Ialyrn was able to finally afford a proper residence. She decided not to buy in Canterlot, as she really wanted to move back into Ponyville. She had been able to perfect using her pocket dimension a bit better in the time she was in Canterlot, and had learnt how to use it for long distance travel around Equestria. This allowed her to visit her family in Trottingham with ease, so it was no bother to move back to Ponyville and still keep up with her magic lessons in Canterlot. Though she was thinking about looking for a new cooking job in Ponyville.

After a bit of toing and froing between Ponyville and Canterlot, Ialyrn was able to find a rather neat little cottage on the outskirts of Ponyville. It had a spacious living room, a rather nice open plan kitchen and diner, 2 bedrooms, a nice sized bathroom, and a basement which she could turn into an art studio. There was also a nice garden area out back, and had close access to the Everfree. A place she wanted to explore a bit when she had the time.

She had proved to be a quick learner with regards to magic, and Ms. Windlesham was growing steadily impressed with her students expansion in the ways of magic. Though the first few weeks provided mixed results....... and a few broken items '*Cough* 'wall' *cough*'. Though she still struggles with teleportation a fair bit. Ialyrn had been studying and practicing in every spare moment she had, as she really wanted to improve....
